Mr. Jamie “Preacher” Trevathan, age 80 of Murray, Ky., passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010, at 6:30 a.m. at his home. He was born May 18, 1930, in Calloway County to the late Gaylon and Lottie Walston Trevathan. He was a retired farmer, also working for Ellis Popcorn Company and Hutson Ag for several years. He was also a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Trevathan was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Pat Trevathan; sisters, Anna Mae Thurman and Mary Miles; brother-in-law, Howell Thurman and a niece Annette Nelson.
He is survived by two sisters, Hilda (Dan) Cunningham of Almo, Charlotte (Johnny) McDougal of Murray; sister-in-law, Robbie Trevathan of Murray; niece Nancy Thurman and nephew Paul Thurman both of Benton, KY, Darren Miles of Plano, TX, David Miles of Murray, Marcie Angle of Franklin, TN, Mitzi Burress of Murray, and John Mark McDougal of Franklin, TN; also several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Hal Shipley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
