Janet Meredith Donaldson Flynn made her transition from this earth on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, after several year's bout with metastatic colon cancer. She was born in Frankton, IN April 11, 1939 to "Pete" and Nelma Meredith. She was one of the very first registered medical technologists in the US (1960) and worked in numerous medical labs in TX, IA, KY, and IN. She became a master gardener in 1983 (again, one of the first in the country) and later after moving to western KY coordinated the Murray, KY Parkinson's Support Group until most of the group joined Rock Steady Boxing (the only program known to reverse PD symptoms). She enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowering shrubs and perennials. She believed that gardens should appear to have "just happened" rather than be totally structured. She also believed that "God doesn't plant in a straight line and neither should you." She enjoyed canning and freezing (and other means of preserving) the huge bounty of fruits and vegetables that Oliver grew.
She is survived by sons Jon Wilson (Trang) of Deltona, FL and Jason Wilson (Rachel) also of Deltona and daughter Amber Donaldson (Cory Strauss) from Marion, IA. Additionally there are 8 grandchildren and 3 great grands. She leaves many dear friends including her beloved companion of 4 ½ years, Oliver Phinney of rural Palmersville, TN with whom she made her "8th last" and final garden".
She is also survived by two brothers, Dick Meredith (Karen) of Bothell, Wa and Terry Meredith of Port Angeles, WA.
There will be no services held at this time. J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
