Mrs. Janice (Cain) Compton, age 80, of Murray, Kentucky died on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
Mrs. Compton was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 29, 1937 to the late Ben and Nellie Grey (James) Cain. Mrs. Compton worked in sales all her life, with 20 plus years selling Stanley Home Products. She was a 1955 graduate of Kirksey High School, a member of the Adult Sunday School Class at the Kirksey Baptist Church where she was a member.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Compton was preceded in death by one grandchild, Tabetha Joy Shelton.
Mrs. Compton is survived by her husband, Junior Compton of Murray, to whom she married on August 1, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan; three daughters, Cindy Cossey and husband Danny of Murray, Kentucky, Cillia Alexander and husband David of Farmington, Kentucky and Ginger Overbey and husband Kenny of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Bob Cain and wife Marilyn of Paducah, Kentucky; two sister-in-law's, Linda Bynum and husband Larry of Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Carolyn Thorn and husband Raymond of Benton, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Erica Livingston and husband Rob, Ben Cossey and wife Nikki and Trent Cossey and wife Traci; seven great grandchildren, Max Cossey, Miles Cossey, Henry Livingston, Coelton Livingston, Lillia Livingston, Braxton Cossey and Chance Cossey; as well as special caregivers, Candace Stevens, Jordan Manning and Heather Adams.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Van Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirksey Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
