Mrs. Janice Boaz Hasty age 67, of Murray, Ky., died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mayfield, Ky.
Mrs. Hasty was born Aug. 23, 1944 to the late Jack and Treva McNeely Boaz. She was a member of the University Church of Christ, and was a primary Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Hast was a retired primary school teacher, having taught at Campbellsburg, Sedalia, Farmington, and east Callaway Co. School. She received her Master's and Rank 1 from Murray State University. In her retirement Mrs. Hasty and her husband were members of the Sojourners missionary group, traveling in RV's helping Church of Christ across the nation, as well as church schools and camps.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Hasty of Murray, Ky., they married Aug. 16, 1964 in Sedalia, Ky., two daughters, Michele Douglas of Sedalia, Ky., Angela Hasty of Gallatin, Tn., sister, Deborah McBee and husband Mike of Hendersonville, Tn., two brothers, Ned Boaz and wife Sandra, of Searcy, Ark., Charley Boaz and wife Terri of Snyder, Tx., two granddaughters, Callie and Kassey Douglas both of Sedalia, Ky.,
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a infant son.
Funeral service will be held Friday, January 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Ronnie Newberry and Bobby Martin will officiate, and burial will follow in the Friendship Church of Christ cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
