Mrs. Janie Elkins, age 69, of Murray, Kentucky, died on, Monday, November 9, 2020, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray, Kentucky.
Mrs. Elkins was born in Highland Park, Michigan on July 10, 1951, to the late Charles and Sue Kemp. Mrs. Elkins was a member of the Martin's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Elkins is survived by her husband, Larry Elkins of Murray, to whom she married on December 8, 1978, in Murray, Kentucky; three daughters, Michelle Corum and husband Dan of Newburg, Indiana, Cortnee Cope and husband Brad of Harrisburg, Illinois, and Tracey Bishop and husband Jarrod of Cape Coral, Florida; one sister, Gail Scarbrough of Puryear, Tennessee; two brothers, Steve Kemp of Hazel, Kentucky and Chuck Kemp of Longwood, Florida; as well as five grandchildren, Alec and Devin Corum, Ava and Haven Cope, and Jessy Hurst.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Martin's Chapel United Methodist Church. Rev. Tim Escue will officiate, and burial will follow in the Martin's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Thursday, November 12, 2020, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Martin's Chapel United Methodist Church.
