Mr. John Benjamin "J.B." Bell, age 91, of Murray, Kentucky died Sunday, August 5th, 2018 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Bell was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on April 24, 1927 to the late Ben Bell and Nellie (Emerson) Bell. Mr. Bell retired from Bell South Telephone Company, was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Murray Masonic Lodge, where he served as Master in 1962. He was also a Navy Veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents Mr. Bell was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Bell Key and Opha Spiceland; a granddaughter, Kanisee Pile; great-grandson, Alex Mattingly; and a son-in-law, Kenny Pile.
Mr., Bell is survived by his wife Alice Bell of Murray, to whom he married in Corinth, Mississippi in 1948; one daughter, Charlotte Pile of Hudson, Kentucky; one son, Dwain Bell and wife Debbie of Murray, Kentucky; two brothers, Jimmy Bell and wife Julia of Murray, Kentucky and Sam Moss Bell and wife Pam of Ashland, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Christy Mattingly and husband Matt, Jennie Bourne and husband Eric, Jon Bell and wife Janna, Christopher Pile and wife Jamie, Allison Fackler and husband Roger and Wesley Pile; as well as 15 great-grandchildren.
A masonic service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Bro. Keith Inman and Bro. Boyd Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
