Mr. J.D. Waldrop, age 97, of Hazel, Kentucky died, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at his home.
He was retired from Murray State University Maintenance Department; He was a member of the Bell City Baptist Church; He was an Army Veteran of World War II; he was a member of the Palmersville Masonic Lodge.
He was born in Graves, County Kentucky on July 1, 1916 to the late Alva and Gertrude Dalton Waldrop. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Iva Nell Wilson Waldrop; one daughter, Mary Jan Waldrop Rudolph, one son, David Waldrop; one sister, Bonnie Lee Keel.
He is survived by one daughter-in-law, Sondra Waldrop of Hazel, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Davida Bridges and husband Kenny, Buffy Hughes and husband Jamie, Jason Rudolph and wife Kathy, John Rudolph and wife Miranda, Jennifer Stephenson and husband Scott; fourteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren also survive.
Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Story's Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Jamie Hughes, and Rev. Pressley Lamb will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
