Jean Ideal Burkeen

Mrs. Jean Ideal Burkeen, age 92, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away, Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Spring Creek Healthcare in Murray, Kentucky. 

Mrs. Burkeen was born on October 11, 1931, in Calloway County, Kentucky to the late Loman Griffen and Bertie (Bizzell) Griffen. She retired from Wal-Mart and was a member of the Independence Community Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Euel D. Burkeen.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Cobb and husband Lewis of Murray, Kentucky and Cheryl Johnson and husband Mike of Huntsville, Alabama; one son, Steve Burkeen and wife Debbie of Murray, Kentucky; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Richard Burkeen and Rev. Curtis Goode officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
