Mrs. Jean Cooper, age 81, of Murray, KY, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011, at 9:50 a.m. at the Spring Creek Healthcare in Murray. Mrs. Cooper was born in Calloway Co., KY on July 17, 1929 to the late Purn and Rozelle Gargus Nance. Mrs. Cooper retired after 24 years of service from the Murray Wal- Mart. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the First Baptist Church in Murray and a member of the Esther Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Cooper; one sister, Daytha Dawn Outland; and one brother, Joe Richard Nance.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by two daughters, Jan Tabers and Joyce Houston and husband Robert; one brother, Dale Nance and wife Susie all of Murray; five grandchildren, Brad Houston, Justin Houston, Kori Tabers, Jared Tabers and Karli Tabers; four great grandchildren, Faith Houston, Cole Houston, Riley Tabers and Cooper Tabers; as well as special friends, June Crider, Opal Giltner and Bess Kerlick .
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Brett Miles, Rev. Boyd Smith and Rev. Kerry Lambert officiating. Burial to follow in the Sinking Spring cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the funeral home.
