Jean "Ma Jean" Richerson

Mrs. Jean “Ma Jean” Richerson, age 86, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.

          She was born in Hazel, Kentucky on March 24, 1937.

          Jean retired from Murray State University Library; she was an active member of the Coldwater Church where she had served as secretary for over 20 years; she was a member of the Model A Car Club.

          She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lorene Ray.

          Jean is survived by Johnny Herndon of Murray, Kentucky; one daughter, Lynn Richerson of Murray, Kentucky; two sons, Danny Richerson and wife Teresa of Murray, Kentucky and Kevin Richerson and wife Angela of Murray, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Amy Ramage and husband Josh, Erin Passmore and husband Brandon, Shaunna Ethridge and husband Chad, Tanner Richerson and wife Amanda and Taylor Richerson; eight great grandchildren also survive.

          Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023, in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.  Rev. Tim Palmer and Jean’s grandson, Tanner Richerson will officiate with burial to follow in the Hazel Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2023, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
