Mr. Jerry Max Camp, age 76, of Murray, Kentucky died on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at his daughter's home after an extended illness.
Mr. Camp was born on April 10, 1939 in Lynn Grove, Kentucky to the late William Wavel Camp and Jocy Lucille Smotherman Camp. Early in his life, Jerry worked as a delivery truck driver for Wonder Bread, and later in life he was a Traffic Coordinator for Carrier Air Conditioning in Nashville, Tennessee. He was also a member of New Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Margaret Ruth Thornton, one brother, Gene Camp, and one sister, Palmer Lee Camp Paschall.
He is survived by one daughter, Angela Gaye McClure and husband Tony of Murray, Kentucky, one sister, Carolyn Borders and husband David of Benton, Kentucky, two grandchildren, Michelle Potter and husband Michael of New Concord, Kentucky, and Mitchell McClure and wife Leanna Linn of Murray, Kentucky, three great-grandchildren, Whitney Lynn Potter and Kaitlyn Elise Potter, both of New Concord, Kentucky, and Presley Layne McClure of Murray, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Sammy Cunningham and Bro. Jack Henshaw officiating. Music will be provided by Michelle Potter, The Kings Sons, and Tony McClure. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be, Mitchell McClure, Jimmy Paschall, Brian Bedwell, Shan Wall, Robert Thornton, Robert Smith. Honorary Pallbearer, Charles "Scottie" Scott.
