Mr. Jerry Wayne Chrisman, age 75, of Mayfield, died on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Kentucky.
Mr. Chrisman was born on January 31, 1939 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Ed Chrisman and Edine Blackford Chrisman. He was the oldest of five children.
Mr. Chrisman graduated Hillsboro High School in Nashville, Tennessee; there he was an accomplished athlete in track, football, baseball and table tennis. He later attended Abilene Christian College and then pursued a career in department store management.
When his family moved to Murray in 1966, he worked for his father at Chrisman Popcorn Company. He was well read, and interests included classical arts and politics.
In addition to his parents Mr. Chrisman was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Chrisman and Don Chrisman; and by two sister-in-laws, Judy Everett and Ann Hart Chrisman.
He is survived by one sister, Cindy Chrisman-Veach and fiancé Steve Andrus of Murray, Kentucky; and brother, Ted Chrisman of Rugby, Tennessee; nieces, Julie Jones, Tiffany Mercer, Kacy DeVillez, Candice Norsworthy, and Christina Crumble; nephews, Chad Chrisman, Brad Chrisman, Jason Chrisman, Cary Chrisman, Ben Chrisman, Matthew Chrisman, and David Veach; as well as 11 great nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with John Dale officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014 prior to the funeral service at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
