Jerry Lee Dunn

Mr. Jerry Lee Dunn, age 71, of Puryear, Tennessee died on Friday, February 1, 2019 at his home after an extended illness.

Mr. Dunn was born in Murray, Kentucky on March 13, 1947 to the late Lester Lee Dunn and Marjorie (Hendricks) Dunn. Mr. Dunn retired after 35 years with West Kentucky Rural Telephone. He attended Oak Grove Baptist Church, and there he was a member of the Dan Billington Sunday School Class and the church choir. Mr. Dunn was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Vietnam War and a Purple Heart recipient.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by a special aunt, Bess Hendricks.

Mr. Dunn is survived by his wife, Camelia Jane Dunn of Puryear, Tennessee, whom he married on September 9, 1967 in Puryear, Tennessee; two sons, Jamie Dunn of Puryear, Tennessee and Todd Dunn and wife Courtney of Puryear, Tennessee; one sister, Carolyn Ray of Puryear, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Jace Dunn, Lilly Merrell and Landon Merrell; three nieces, Sandra Johnson, Melissa Walker and husband Chris, and Allison Kilgore and husband Dustin; as well as three nephews, Kerry Pat Ray and wife Lisa, Anthony Orr and wife Christy, and Grant Orr and wife Cassie.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Glynn Orr and Rev. Carl T. McNeil officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors provided by the VFW Post #6291. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
