Mr. Jerry Max Ford, age 82, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at Baptist Health of Paducah.
Mr. Ford was born on January 9, 1938, in Calloway County, Kentucky to the late Levi Ford and Flora Beane Ford. He worked for 36 years as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service. Mr. Ford served our country in the Unites States Navy with four years of active duty and 20 years in the Navy Reserve. Mr. Ford was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat Basketball Fan, a Kentucky Colonel, and was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by four sisters, Geneva Hatcher, Sue Powell, Emma Elizabeth Powell, and Jessie Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Collie Ford; to whom he married on July 14, 1961; two daughters, Jennifer Allen and husband Philip of Murray, Kentucky and Sharlisa "Shorty" Smotherman and husband Richard of Murray, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Haley Rose Allen and fiancé Phillip Geiman of New Orleans, Louisiana, Morgan Smotherman Perry and husband Wesley of Murray, Kentucky, and Clay Smotherman of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, H.L. Ford and wife Norma of Murray, Kentucky; as well as one sister, Shelby Hosford and husband Hal of Murray, Kentucky.
Due to the current pandemic of the Coronavirus there will be no public service or visitation held. Burial will be held in the Scotts Grove Cemetery with Bro. Martin Severns officiating.
