Mr. Jerry D. Maupin, age 80, of Murray, Kentucky, died Friday, June 16, 2017 at his home.
Mr. Maupin was born April 14, 1937 in Murray, Kentucky to the late William Franklin Maupin and Lois Luvean Rowland Maupin. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Martha Ann Jackson.
Mr. Maupin was a former Conservation Officer with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. He was very avid outdoorsmen, and was the former outdoor columnist for the Murray Ledger and Times. Jerry retired from Murray State University Facilities Maintenance, and as a fishing guide on Kentucky and Barkley lakes. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Murray.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Maupin of Murray, Kentucky, they married October 3, 1987 in Murray, Kentucky; two daughters, Krista Crass and husband Gary of Murray, and Lesa Sims and husband Rusty of Murray; two sons, Richard Maupin of Tampa Bay, Florida, and Richard Neil Edwards and wife Jerina of Jenks, Oklahoma; sister, Letitia Johnson of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; brother, Franklin Dale Maupin and wife Jackie of Wichita, Kansas; brother in law, Willie Jackson of Murray; seven grandchildren, Gary F. Crass, Catherine Crass, Samantha Hightower, Sarah Stanley, Madison Grace Edwards, Reece Edwards, and Riley Edwards.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, June 19, 2017 from 4-8 p.m., at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
