Mr. Jerry Travis age 69, of Dexter, Kentucky, died Wednesday, September 04, 2013 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Travis was born in Murray, Kentucky on August 23, 1944 to the late Tom Edd Travis and Venice (Jones) Travis. Mr. Travis retired from the City of Murray as a truck driver and was a member of the Brooks Chapel United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents Mr. Travis was preceded in death by one sister, Ora Belle Travis.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Travis of Dexter, Kentucky, to whom he married on December 14, 1963 in Murray, Kentucky; one daughter, Karen Garland and husband Scott of Murray; one son, Tony Travis and wife Cindy of Murray; one sister, Sue Taylor of Dalton, Georgia; three brothers, Will Edd Travis and wife Faye of Murray, Bill Travis and friend Pricilla of Murray and L.A. Travis of Dalton, Georgia; as well as three grandchildren, Justin Boggess and wife Devry, Tanner Travis and Tisha Travis all of Murray.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Cunningham and Guy Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Ledbetter Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 after 5:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
