Jesse H. Chiles

Mr. Jesse H. Chiles, age 72, of Murray, Kentucky died Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.

Mr. Chiles was born in Ashland, Kentucky on May 21, 1943 to the late Leon Chiles and Alberta McDonough Chiles. Mr. Chiles retired from the United States Navy after 26 years of service while in combat in the Vietnam War and Gulf War. Mr. Chiles later retired from Murray State University after 14 years of service as an electrician. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents Mr. Chiles was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Eaves; and by one brother, Earl Allen.


Mr. Chiles is survived by his wife Connie Chiles of Murray, to whom he married in 1960 in New Albany, Indiana; one daughter, Rita Reeves and husband Dan of Murray, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Brad Reeves, Bryan Reeves, Brandon Reeves and Christopher Caldwell – Reeves all of Murray, Kentucky and Hunter Lee Eaves of Danville, Kentucky; two great grandchildren, Madison Reeves and Bryan Reeves, II both of Murray, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Harrell officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the memorial service on Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. – until service hour (12:00 p.m.) at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
