Mr. Jesse L. West, age 80, of Hardin, Kentucky died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 1:25 a.m. at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, Kentucky.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army; He was a member of the Crossroad Church of God in Mayfield, Kentucky; He was a member of the American Legion Post #73 in Murray, Kentucky; He was a member of the Local #228 Painters Union in Decatur Illinois; He was a retired painter.
He was born in Morgan County, Illinois on February 28, 1934 to the late Marvin Ray and Ruby Hixon West. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, James "Bud" West and Jene West.
He is survived by his wife Doris Henderson West of Hardin, Kentucky; they were married July 3, 1955 in Jacksonville, Illinois; two daughters, Debbie Plummer and husband Chuck of Hardin, Kentucky and Judy Moeller and husband Jim of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one granddaughter, Katelyn Moeller; two step grandsons, Brian Plummer and wife Michelle and Wes Plummer and wife Carrie; five great grandchildren also survive.
The family would like to give special thanks to caregivers Mary Pittman and Teressa Uber
Graveside services will be held 1:30 pm Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Pastor Allen Waid will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday December 22, 2014 from 10:00 am till 12:00 noon at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
