Mrs. Jessie Lou Davis, age 92, of Murray, Kentucky died on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the VanAyer Healthcare in Martin, Tennessee.
Mrs. Davis was born in Weakley County, Tennessee on December 30, 1923 to the late Corbitt Rickman and Zelma (Frields) Rickman. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Baptist Church and the New Salem Baptist Church in Weakley County, Tennessee before moving to Murray. She volunteered 16,819 hours during her 23 years as a volunteer at the Murray – Calloway County Hospital and she often said, that she, "loved every minute of it." During World War II she contributed to the cause by building airplanes as a Rosie the Riveter in Akron, Ohio.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Davis, who died in 1991; one sister, Sue Morton; as well as three brothers, Hayden Rickman, Robert Rickman and Johnny Rickman.
Mrs. Davis is survived by one son, Danny Davis and wife Linda of Paris, Tennessee; one brother, Tommy Rickman of Lexington, Kentucky; one step grandchild, Pat Noble; and two step grandchildren, Ryan Noble and Alyssa Weber.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Copeland and Rev. Kerry Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan Cemetery in Weakley County, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2016 prior to the funeral service from11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
