Mrs. Jo Ann Coursey Balentine, age 73, of Almo, Kentucky, died Friday, June 6, 2014 at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, Kentucky.
Mrs. Balentine was born in Calloway County on June 8, 1940 to the late Leon and Mary Olga Clendenon Coursey. She was a Nurse's Aide at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital for 40 years, and a member of the Dexter Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her husband, Elijah Balentine, to whom she was married on March 6, 1964, in Paris, Tennessee; two daughters, Lana Cannon, of Almo, and Angie Harrison and husband Michael of Kirksey, two sons, Michael Coursey and wife Jennie of Murray, and Mark Balentine of Benton, one brother, Ray Gene Coursey, Sr. and wife Debbie of Almo, and eight grandchildren, Lara Coursey, Shannon Pace and husband Derrick, Rachael Coursey, William Holt and wife Amy, Josh Holt, Brittany Grooms and husband TJ, James Harrison and Whitney Harrison.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Robert McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the McDaniel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill funeral home.
