Joan Cooper

Ms. Cooper was born in Murray, Kentucky on May 19, 1943 to the late Leon Cooper and Annie Lee (Brandon) Cooper. Mrs. Cooper retired as a secretary with the Facilities Management Department at Murray State University. She was a member of the South Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and served as the organ player for many years. She was an animal lover, especially her Rat Terrier, Katie.
Survivors include two sisters, Krista Jean Cooper and Jane Cooper Gaines and husband Tommy, all of Murray, Kentucky; one niece, Krista Gaines Albrecht and husband Scot of Murray, Kentucky; one great-niece, Addison Albrecht; also surviving are special cousins, Gail Turner and husband Lanny, and June Andrews; several other cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the South Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
