Joe B. Bowden

On February 03, 2025, our dad Joe Brooks Bowden passed away after a short illness. We are comforted that dad will now be with our Mom Carroll Bowden who passed away in January 2007. Dad was born on March 11, 1940, to Harlan and Vera Bowden. He has one sister, Betty Bowden Oakley of Cadiz. Joe is survived by his and Carrolls' four children, Westley Bowden (Sons Christopher Bowden, Stepdaughters Courtney and Tamera), Anthony Bowden (Tony), wife Wendy Bowden and sons Blake and Daniel. Kathy Bowden Canter, husband Randy Canter, Daughter Jessica Campbell and husband Matt, Son Shane Canter wife Becky, and daughter Keira, Tammy Bowden Hall, husband Jerry, Daughter Danielle Hall Stewart, husband Christpher Stewart, daughter Evelyn Stewart, son Alexander Hall. Joe is also survived by nieces and nephews Barry Oakley, Angela Killebrew, and Clarissa King along with several great nieces and great nephews.

Joe worked for Tappan for 17 yrs, Calloway County School Systems as a Bus Driver for 8 years, dad was an over the road truck driver for 14 years, and he also worked on a few local farms in Kirksey over the years.

Dad will be missed but it brings our family comfort that he is reunited with our mom to whom he was married for 47 years.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2025, in the Mt Carmel Cemetery in Kirksey, Kentucky. Todd and Clarissa King will officiate. No public visitation will be held.
