Joe L. Doran, 67, of Warren, OH passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014, at his residence. He was born February 19, 1947, in Chicago, IL, son of the late Barchall and Irene Paschall Doran.
Joe earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Louisville, and went on to receive a Master of Divinity Degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.
Joe served as the Director of Pastoral Care at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for the past nine years and previously served in the same capacity at Baptist Memorial Hospitial in Memphis, TN. He was also the Pastor of the First United Church of Christ in Warren for the past four years. In former years, Joe served several Southern Baptist Congregations and was endorsed through the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board for Chaplaincy. Joe was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the guitar, banjo and mandolin. He especially loved bluegrass music and had played professionally in his younger years.
Surviving are his wife, Kaye Hale Doran of Warren; a daughter, Amy Sinclair of Cincinnati, OH; and a son, Jonathan Doran of Warren. Also surviving, are two grandchildren, Ryan Sinclair and Kayla Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held 4:30 PM Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the First United Church of Christ. Friends may visit from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Sunday, August 10, 2014, at the church.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Puryear Cemetery in Puryear, Tennessee. Local arrangements are being handled by the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
