Mr. Joe Pat Johnson, age 78, of Murray, Kentucky, died Sunday, April 07, 2013 at his home.
He was a former employ or Tappan Stove Company; he was a retired farmer; he was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
He was born in Kirksey Community of Calloway County, Kentucky on January 10, 1935 to the late Tannie D and Obera Jones Johnson. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Watson and Sue Outland; one brother, Jim Johnson.
He is survived by his wife Joetta Cook Johnson of Murray, Kentucky, in whom he was married November, 2, 1957 in Corinth, Mississippi; one daughter, Cindy Clark and husband Keith of Murray, Kentucky, two sons, Roger Johnson and wife Anita of Hazel, Kentucky, and Jimmy Dale Johnson and wife Karon of Murray, Kentucky; two sisters, Wilma Wiser and husband Ed and Betty Williams both of Murray, Kentucky; two brothers, Charles D. Johnson and Hugh "Shorty" Johnson and wife Pam both of Murray, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Sarah Parker (Justin), Dusty Clark (Bell), Clint Johnson, Patrick Johnson (Leslie), Austin Smith (Mary), Jessica Johnson (Adam Giles), Joshua Johnson (Kayla), Savannah Davis (Zack), Katie Clark (Brian McCuiston); six great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, April 11, 2013 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Bro Phillip Bazzell and Bro. Glenn Cope will officiate with burial to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the funeral home.
