Mr. John A. Armstrong, age 76, of Hazel, Kentucky, died on, Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at his home.
Mr. Armstrong was born in Lake county, Tennessee on October 4, 1944, to the late Esther Lee Jones Armstrong Kendall and raised by his stepfather, Leslie "Jack" Kendall. Mr. Armstrong retired from Briggs & Stratton and was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness Church in Murray, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives, Robbie Nell Webb Armstrong and Shirley Armstrong; two brothers, George E. Armstrong and Calup Armstrong; three sisters, Joe Ellar Hooks, Mary Lee Smith, and Carrie Mae Bass; one step brother, Frank Kendall, Jr.; as well as two step sisters, Ethel Mae Hudson and Dorothy Hicks.
Mr. Armstrong is survived by one loving sister, Christine Tharpe of Paris, Tennessee; one son, Jonathon L. Armstrong of Florida; two grandchildren, Jakenya Cruse of Florida and Marquvan Abrams of Florida; brother, R.L. Armstrong Oak Park, Illinois; sister, Bennie Faye Rogers of Oak Park, Illinois; five step-daughters, Shirley Alexander, Traci Dowdy, Linda Curtis, and Janet Wilson; two stepsons, Michael Webb and Darryl Brawley; nieces and nephews, Carl, James, Kree, Joe E. Mack, Vanessa, and Ann; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends, Martha Alexander English of Mississippi and Sandra Johnson of Murray, Kentucky.
We all loved you, but God loved you best.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., on Friday, October 23, 2020, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A homegoing service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. A.A. Richardson officiating.
