Mr. John Walter Brinkley Jr., 91 of Murray, KY died on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.
Mr. Brinkley was born August 15, 1921 in Clinton, Ky., to the late John Walter and Fannie Floyd Brinkley. He retired from Union Carbide, where he worked as a chemical operator for 33 years. He served in WWII with the Army Air Corps, and he was a member and elder of the Green Plain Church of Christ. In addition to his parents Mr. Brinkley was preceded in death by his wife Anne Walker Brinkley, to whom he was married July 26, 1953.
Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Brinkley Berhow and husband Eric of Hazel, Ky., one son, John W. Brinkley III and wife Lisa of Magnolia, Tx., one brother, William R. Brinkley and wife Betty of Harrodsburg, Ky., and two grandchildren, Erica Berhow, and Paul Berhow and wife Lisa both of Hazel, Ky., also one great grandchild, Gunner Berhow of Hazel, Ky. also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Virgil Hale and Tip Curd will officiate, and burial will follow in the Green Plain Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 4: 30 – 8:00 P.M. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
