John R. Burkeen

Mr. John Burkeen, age 78, of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Murray, Kentucky died on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at the Pine Haven Health and Rehab in Evansville, Indiana.
Mr. Burkeen was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on November 11, 1940 to the late Obid Burkeen and Louise (Henderson) Burkeen Washam. Mr. Burkeen was a retired iron worker and was a member of the Iron Workers Local Union No. 103. He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his parents Mr. Burkeen was preceded in death by one son, Kerry Burkeen.
Mr. Burkeen is survived by one son, Kevin Burkeen and wife Angela of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; two brothers, David Burkeen and wife Bonnie and Ronnie Burkeen and wife JoAnn all of Almo, Kentucky; as well as two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Palmer officiating. A private burial will be held following. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
