Mr. John "J.W." Walter Jones, age 81, of Hazel, Kentucky, died on, Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.
Mr. Jones was born on April 20, 1940, in Marshall County, Kentucky to the late Henry Chalice Jones and Bula M. (Carroll) Jones. He retired from the Calloway County School System as a librarian, did tax preparation, and was a self-employed painter. He was a member of the South Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. In addition, Mr. Jones was formerly active in the Gideons Organization, Woodmen Life Member, Hazel Water District, and was always very involved in church.
Survivors include his wife Toni Jones of Hazel, Kentucky; they married on August 15, 1964, in Hazel, Kentucky; two daughters, Johnna M. Nance of Hazel, Kentucky and Valerie J. Clark and husband Darren of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Edna M. McClarty and husband Kenneth of Murray, Kentucky ;one brother, Glenn Jones and wife Edna of Murray, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Alex Nance significant other Jonathon Topper, Darrah Clark Jackson and husband Cody, Chesley Nance and significant other Rachel Franklin, Olivia Nance and significant other, Jackson Dunn, and Sunny Clark and significant other Briar Ray; as well as one great grandchild, Ellie McCarty.
A private family service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with David Allbritten officiating.
