John B. Smith

Mr. John B. Smith, age 83 of Kirksey, Kentucky, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.

Mr. Smith was born in Calloway County Kentucky on December 23, 1930 to the late Herman Cecil Smith and Hutchie (Billington) Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired farmer and was of the methodist faith.

In addition to his parents Mr. Smith was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Faye Minton; and by four brothers, James Ralph Smith, Charles "Skeeter" Smith, H.C. Smith, Jr. and Pat Gerald Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Pearl Smith of Kirksey, Kentucky, to whom he married on April 21, 1951 in Corinth, Mississippi; one son, Johnny C. Smith and wife Ladonna of Kirksey, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Sydney Alexis Smith of Nashville, Tennessee and Brandon Jones of Louisville, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
