Mr. Johnny Richard Orr, age 83, of Hazel, Kentucky, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Arbor Place of Puryear, Tennessee.
Mr. Orr was born November 21, 1932 in Calloway County, Kentucky, to the late Hafford Hall Orr and Pearl Brandon Orr. He was employed by Gulf Oil Corporation for 10 years, was also a retired farmer and car dealer. He was an avid "Mopar" collector and had been a member of the Mopar Muscle Club of Tennessee. Mr. Orr was also the prize winner of the "Sears National most beautiful baby contest" in 1934. He was presented a sterling silver cup.
Survivors include two daughters, Jan Barnett and husband Mike of Hazel, Kentucky, Gaye Scott and husband Randy of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sister, Janette Orr Moody of Grant, Alabama; two grandchildren, Brian Barnett of Murray, Kentucky, and Kristin Barnett of Fayetteville, Arkansas; niece, Sheryl Porch and husband John of Scottsboro, Alabama; nephew, Darryl Moody and wife Suzy of Grant, Alabama; also several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, John Dale will officiate, and the burial will follow in the South Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 5-8 p.m., at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
