Joseph Charles Ballard

Mr. Joseph Charles Ballard age 86, of Murray, Kentucky, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Ballard was born January 5, 1930 in Danville, West Virginia, to the late Charles Dewey Ballard and Mona Harless Ballard. In addition to his parent he is also preceded in death by his wife, Bonita Thompson Ballard; three sons, Jon Ballard, David Ballard, Joseph Ballard Jr.; one sister, Betty Lou Meadows; one brother, Gene Ballard, granddaughter, Kristi Ballard Henderson.

Mr. Ballard was retired Chief Financial Officer for Louisiana Off Shore Oil Port. He was a member of the First Baptist Church but was currently attending Sinking Springs Baptist Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Beverly Ballard Vasterling and husband Frank of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Jeff Ballard of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Patricia Ballard Canon of New Lexington, Ohio; six grandchildren, Mark Ballard, Trent Ballard, Tracy Ballard, Zachary Vasterling, Emily Vasterling and Ethan Vasterling; also seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Kerry Lambert and Rev. Charles Miles will officiate with burial to follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am till funeral hour Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the J.H. Churchill funeral home.
