Mrs. Dorothy "June" Crider, 86, of Murray, Kentucky died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at her home after an extended illness.
She was a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church for 60 years; teaching Sunday School for over 45 years; she was currently a member of the First Baptist Church in Murray; were she served as a substitute teacher for the Dorcus Sunday School Class, and was a member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class, she was also a part of the Senior Magic Group. She was a very active member of the Women's Missionary Union (WMU), she served as a director for over 40 years, served as the Secretary and Treasurer for the Blood River Association as well as the WMU Kentucky Executive Board for 4 years, as well as participating in the Dorothy Mission Group of WMU. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 60 years, serving a Worthy Matron and served 2 years as Ohio and Kentucky Grand Representative. She was a member of the Murray Woman's Club.
She was born in Calloway County Kentucky on June 12, 1927 to the late Horace and Mae Wilkerson Williams; in addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by one sister, Lila Kondratko.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Albert Crider of Murray, Kentucky; one daughter, Kathy Crider Long and husband George of Benton Kentucky, one nephew, Mickey Kondratko of Murray, Kentucky two grandchildren, Eric Long and wife Jackie of Benton, Kentucky, Evan Long and wife Rachel of Lexington, Kentucky; two great grandchildren, Lucyanne Elizabeth Long and Griffin Elliott Long;
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev Keith Inman and Rev Calvin Wilkins will officiate with burial to follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, April 18, 2014 at the J.H. Churchill funeral home.
