Katherine Chrisman

Mrs. Mary Katherine Chrisman, age 92 of Millington, Tennessee formerly of Hazel, Kentucky, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis Tennessee.

She was a member of Mason's Chapel United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School until she was in her 80's, and also participated in the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Chrisman was a homemaker with a passion for reading, an avid gardener and someone who enjoyed walking.

She was born November, 11, 1921 in Hazel, Kentucky to the late John and Dovie Underwood. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Reuben Chrisman; one sister, Eva Craig; two infant sisters, Clara Underwood and Opal Underwood; four brothers, Elgin Underwood, James Underwood, John B. Underwood, and Brooks Underwood.

She is survived by one daughter, Bonita Dunavant and husband Ray of Millington, Tennessee; two sons, Larry Chrisman and wife Peggy of Hazel, Kentucky and Roger Chrisman and wife Lisa of Murray, Kentucky; two sisters, Ruth Netherland of South Fulton, Tennessee, and Sue Hinze and husband Gene of Hazel, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Adrienne Short, Megan Craig, Sam Chrisman, Chase Chrisman, Kelly Chrisman and Emily Chrisman; four great grandchildren, Katie Grace Short, Parker Chrisman, Evie Craig and Rylee Ann Chrisman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2014 at Mason's Chapel United Methodist Church. Rev. Alan Trull and Rev. April Arnold will officiate with burial to follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
