Mrs. Kathryn Charlton Langston age 96, of Murray, Ky., died Saturday, February 02, 2013, at the Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, Ky.
Mrs. Langston was born November 5, 1916 in Henry Co., Tn., to the late Grover and Beatrice Orr Charlton. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Hazel Baptist Church, the Lydia Sunday school class, and the women's missionary union. She also worked in various other capacities in the church, including being a long time Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Rodrigues and husband Bart of Oak Ridge, Tn., Janice Baker and husband Jim of Murray, one son-in-law, Bob Lassiter of Murray, KY., two sisters, Azzilee Kelso (James) of Cummings, GA., Betty Cameron (Ray) of Deerborn Heights, MI., one brother, Halton Charlton, of McKenzie, TN., as well as sixteen grandchildren thirty-eight great-grandchildren, and twenty-four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brent Langston, to whom she was married on October 8, 1932, one daughter, Sylvia Marcelle Lassiter, one granddaughter, Sylvia Kaye Lassiter, one great-grandson, Scott Seith, five brothers, Estel Charlton, Homer Charlton, James Charlton, Daris Charlton, and Hal Charlton, and two sisters, Oyna Reeves and Rachel Broach.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Rev. Brent Lee and Rev. Kerry Lambert will officiate and burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
