Mrs. Kay Weatherly Ray age 81, of Murray, Kentucky, died Saturday, June 07, 2014 at her home.
She was born May 18, 1933 in Murray, Kentucky to the late Roy and Lucille Irvan Weatherly. She was a self-employed bookkeeper for over 60 years. Active member of the University Church of Christ, The University Christian Center, the Music Department of the Murray Woman's Club and the Murray Magazine Club. Mrs. Ray volunteered for Relay for Life, Family Resource Clothing Fair, Angels Attic, Chamber of Commerce, the Murray High School Alumni Association, and the Murray Civic Music Association. She was a recipient of the Service Above Self Award for Recognition of Outstanding Dedication and Service, presented by The Rotary Club of Murray, KY.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rob Ray and one sister Mary Frances Richardson.
Survivors include daughter Robyn Henson and husband Michael of Aurora, Kentucky, son Kevin Alan Ray and wife Vicki of Ocala, Florida. Sisters Janice Sublett of Denver, Colorado, Ginni Hopkins and husband Jerry of Murray, Kentucky, Nettie Jones and husband Harold of Murray, Kentucky, brothers Roy Weatherly, Jr. of Murray, Kentucky, John Weatherly and wife Bobbie of Murray, Kentucky and Harry Weatherly and wife Cheryl of Union City, Tennessee. Grandchildren, Brandon Ray and wife Stephanie of Ocala, Florida and Corri Catherine Yelken and husband Matt of Ocala, Florida. Great-grandson Colton Boone Ray of Ocala, Florida. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Charley Bazzell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
