Krista Jill King

Mrs. Krista King, age 58, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

Mrs. King was born on May 22, 1965, in Murray, Kentucky. She retired as Director of Compliance at Kentucky Housing after 27 years of service. She was also a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky. Called Jill by friends and Grammi by family members, and she enjoyed fishing, boating, watching Hallmark movies, and above all else, playing with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her father, Billy Mitchell; brother, Brad Mitchell. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd King of Murray, Kentucky, they married on July 22, 1995, in Frankfort, Kentucky; mother, Clara Ellis Sweet of Murray, Kentucky; three daughters, Kelly Yancey and husband Matthew of Davidsonville, Maryland, Clarke Polsgrove and husband Joey of Shelbyville, Kentucky, and Corey Rearden and husband Drew of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; sister, Ginger Severns and husband Martin of Almo, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Clara Yancey, Eleanor Yancey, Miller Polsgrove, Kadence Rearden, Karson Rearden, and Kiera Rearden.

A funeral service for Krista will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2023, in the Chapel of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Rev. Martin Severns will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A second funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky, Rev. Rusty Fitzpatrick will officiate, and burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort, Kentucky. A second visitation will be held Friday, October 6, 2023, from 5-8 p.m., at the Calvary Baptist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky.
