Ladeen "Deen" Spann

Mrs. Ladeen "Deen" Spann, age 97, of Murray, Kentucky died on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.

Mrs. Spann was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on September 25, 1918 to the late Bob Hubbs and Helen (Hargrove) Hubbs. Mrs. Spann retired from the Murray City School System as cafeteria manager after 25 years of service. Mrs. Spann was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Spann was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Spann; one sister, Mary Bob Thomas and by one brother, Wilmot Hubbs.

Mrs. Spann is survived by two daughters, Joann Coy and husband Howard of Almo, Kentucky and Joyce Hurt and husband Larry of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Robert Spann and wife Katherine of Murray, Kentucky; two sisters, Ann Nance and husband Shirley of Murray, Kentucky and Jimmie Norsworthy and husband Don of Mayfield, Kentucky; one brother, William Hubbs of Murray, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Mick Spann, Jerry Spann, Michelle Tyler, Jay Simmons, Keith Houston and Cindy Kinsey; twelve great grandchildren, Tyler Roberts, Jason Spann, Jessica Crosno, Jordan Crosno, Josh Tyler, Kate Simmons, Preston Simmons, Ryan Houston, Taylor Houston, Shawn Kinsey, Max Kinsey and Emily Kinsey; and one great-great grandchild, Lawson Houston.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Martin Severns and Mike Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Scotts Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, February, 22, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
