Mr. Dan Darnell, age 78, of Farmington, Kentucky, died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.
Mr. Darnell was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on March 22, 1940 to the late Stanley Darnell and Fern Nell (Crouch) Darnell. Mr. Darnell was a farmer and previously worked at Tappan Manufacturing Company for 19 years. He was a member of the Farmington Masonic Lodge and the West Fork Baptist Church. He also served in the Army Reserves.
In addition to his parents Mr. Darnell was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Darnell; and by a daughter-in-law, Eva Darnell.
Mr. Darnell is survived by his wife, Judy McNeely Darnell of Farmington, Kentucky, to whom he married on August 23, 1962 in Dresden, Tennessee; one daughter, LaVona Darnell Gallimore and husband Roger of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Greg Darnell of Hardin, Kentucky; two sisters, Linda Duncan and husband Charles of Farmington, Kentucky and Lagenia Miller and husband Ken of Murray, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Judith Darnell of Farmington, Kentucky; two brothers, Philip Darnell and wife Betty of Murray, Kentucky and Randy Darnell and wife Rhonda of Mayfield, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Gregory Casey Darnell and wife Laken, Jacob Stanley Darnell and wife Zaya, Neely KayAnn Gallimore and Emma Danielle Gallimore; one great grandchild, Lorelye Danielle Darnell; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 29. 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Alan Miller and Rev. Randy Kuykendall will officiate, and burial will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
