Mr. Laszlo "Les" Jegenyes, age 78, of Murray, Kentucky died at his home on Saturday, March 05, 2016.
Mr. Jegenyes was born in Esztergom, Hungary on October 6, 1937 to the late Paul Jegenyes and Arenka (Kouacs) Jegenyes. Mr. Jegenyes was an Army Veteran and a 22-year retiree of the Army. He served two tours in Vietnam and was the recipient of a Bronze Star Medal. Mr. Jegenyes was a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church in Aurora, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jegenyes was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Marie Leblanc, who died in 1998; a brother, George Jegenyes; and sister, Helen Nemethy.
Mr. Jegenyes is survived by his wife, Judith Jegenyes of Murray, Kentucky to whom he married on November 4, 1961 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and by his son, Jeffrey Brian Jegenyes and wife Betty of Pine City, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church in Aurora, Kentucky with Father Greg Trawick officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Kentucky at 1:30 p.m. with full military rites. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with a Prayer Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
