Mrs. Laura Lynn Smith, age 91 of Murray, Kentucky, died peacefully in the arms of her Savior Wednesday, June 01, 2016 at the Hickory Woods Retirement Center.
Mrs. Smith was retired Assistant Director for the Murray Housing Authority. She was a member of the Kirksey United Methodist Church and was part of The Friendship Sunday School Class.
She was born July 27, 1924 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Homer G. and Laura Rose Radford. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, James Ross "J.R." Smith; one son, Myron Smith and her step mother, Mary Moore Radford.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Alesia Gail Parker and husband Robert of Murray, Kentucky and Kimberly Rogers and husband Chris of Nashville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Austin James Parker and wife Jennifer of Murray, Kentucky and Brennan Lloyd Parker and wife Jennifer of Augusta, Georgia; six great grandchildren Gabriel Ross Parker, Brooke Anne Parker, Jack Lloyd Parker, Brandy Mason, Kimberly Mason and David Mason.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, June 4, 2016 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. David Allbritten and Rev. Dan Leslie will officiate with burial to follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at the funeral home from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
