Mrs. Lavenia Jones Parker, 77, of Murray, Ky., died Monday, August 15, 2011, at her home.
She was a homemaker, and was a graduate of the Murray Training School. Mrs. Parker was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Murray, Ky., and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Ruth Wilson Circle and the P.E.O. Mrs. Parker was born July 1, 1934 in Hazel, Ky.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Thomas G. Parker of Murray, Ky., they married Aug. 16, 1952 in Murray, Ky., two daughters, Patricia Tenent (Edgar) of Memphis, Tn., Pam Dunlap (Doug) of Houston, Tx., two sons, Craig Parker (Selwyn) of Louisville, Ky., T.G. Parker (Lana) of Memphis, Tn., one brother, Ernest Jones (Jane) of Washington, D.C., Also five grandchildren.
Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents, Commodore and Willie Ray Jones, one sister, Lauretta Sunshine Jones.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, with Rev. Bob Saywell officiating, and burial will follow in the Old Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
