Lejenia Hendon Farris

Mrs. Lejenia Hendon Farris, age 96, of Murray, KY, died peacefully on Saturday May 13, 2017 with her beloved family around her.

Mrs. Farris was born in Murray, KY on August 4, 1920 to the late Irvan Lamar Hendon and Elsie (Edmonds) Hendon. Along with her parents, Mrs. Farris was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Keys Farris, seven brothers and sisters, daughters Janice Farris Weatherford and Wanda Joyce Farris, son Donald Ben Farris, son-in-law John Dudley Burton and grandson John Benjamin Burton.

Mrs. Farris is survived by her daughter Rita Burton of Murray, KY, late grandson Benjie Burton's wife Tiffany (their children Haley and Viola) of Owensboro, KY, son-in-law Larry Weatherford of Murray, KY, grandson Kim Weatherford and wife Diana (their children are Emma and Abby) of Flower Mound, TX and grandson Tim Weatherford and wife Peggy (their children are Hannah, Will, Emily, Jacob, Claire, niece Sandy Waters and her husband Scott) of Franklin, TN.

Mrs. Farris was a member of the New Concord Church of Christ. She exemplified Proverbs 31; throughout her life she was a Godly wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with John Dale and Blake Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Hicks Cemetery.
