Mr. Leonard M. Holloway, 92, of Murray, Kentucky died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at his home.
Mr. Holloway was born in Cave - In - Rock, Illinois on June 17, 1920 to the late Millard Holloway and Mina Hogue Holloway. Mr. Holloway retired from Kraft Foods after 32 years of service. He was an Airforce veteran of WWII, and member of the Martin's Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Holloway served as the former Post Master of the Shawnee Town, Illinois post office, as well as a former member of the V.F.W., American Legion and the Lions Club.
In addition to his parents Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by his wife of 50 plus years, Eva Jean Clayton Holloway, who passed away on December 16, 1997; and a granddaughter, Madeleine L. Dillard.
Mr. Holloway is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Bilbrey and husband Bill of Cookeville, Tennessee, Ann Catherine Holloway of Louisville, Kentucky and Marian H. Mason and husband Don of Murray; one sister, Geraldine "Jerry" Brockett of Woodland Hills, California; three grandchildren, Jennifer L. Freeman and Kate A. Moss both of Franklin, Tennessee and LeAnn E. Ledweg of Louisville, Kentucky; seven great grandchildren, Lauren E. DeGuire, Carson G. DeGuire, Hadley S. Freeman, Madison L. Moss, Lily C. Moss, Cole F. Ledweg and Greyson B. Ledweg; one niece, Cyndi Brockett of Woodland Hills, California; two nephews, Eric Brockett of Woodland Hills, California and Chuck Brockett of Montana; as well as special friends and caregiver, Marlene E. Beach and Bart Steelman.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Burkeen officiating. A eulogy will be provided by daughter, Ann Catherine Holloway and granddaughter, Jennifer Freeman will have reflections. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until funeral hour (2:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.
