Lillian Gilbert

Mrs. Lillian Gilbert, age 80, of Murray, Kentucky, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.

Mrs. Gilbert retired from the Murray City Schools Food Service after 39 years of service. She was a member of the University Church of Christ and participated in the Ladies Class at the University Church of Christ and the Young at Hearts Class at the Glendale Road Church of Christ. She also attended the Murray Calloway County Senior Citizens.

Mrs. Gilbert was born in Graves County, Kentucky on November 13, 1932 to the late James E. and Pearl Page Ruddle. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Hafford Gilbert, who died on March 29, 1972; one sister, Allie Parker; and three brothers, Newton Ruddle, Ellis Ruddle, and Rex Ruddle.

She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Pritchard and husband Billy of Murray, Kentucky; one grandson, Michael E. Pritchard and wife Christina of Murray, Kentucky; as well as three nieces, Linda Nichols and husband Ronnie, Marie Hamilton and husband Don and Faye Pittman and husband Paul all of Paducah, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. John Dale, Jason Hart and Mykel Tidwell will officiate with burial to follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, October 18, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
