Lorene Nanny Geurin

Mrs. Lorene (Nanny) Geurin, age 93, of Murray, Kentucky died on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Benchmark Healthcare of Puryear in Puryear, Tennessee.

Mrs. Geurin was born in Calloway County Kentucky on November 16, 1922 to the late Samford and Lena (McCuiston) McClure. Mrs. Geurin was a homemaker and a cook for East Calloway County Elementary School for several years. She was a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Geurin was preceded in death by her husband James "Pap" Geurin, who died on September 23, 2008; three sisters, Lola Mae McClure, Lavelle McClure and Opal Holland; and by one brother, Hoyt McClure.

Mrs. Geurin is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Phillips and husband Danny of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Ronnie Geurin and wife Shirlie of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Bill McClure and wife Imogene of Murray, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Jamie Phillips and wife Shelia of Murray, Kentucky, Jason Phillips and wife Stephanie of Murray, Kentucky, Justin Phillips and wife Stephanie of Murray ,Kentucky and John Geurin and wife Tanya of Murray ,Kentucky; two step grandchildren, Celisa Cunningham and husband Ricky of Dexter, Kentucky and Trace Curd and wife Amy of Murray, Kentucky; as well as six great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Brother Rob Ison officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnett Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.at the funeral home.
