Lorene Hutchens Owen

Mrs. Lorene Gertrue Hutchens Owen, age 95, of Murray, Kentucky died on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray. She had been a resident of Fern Terrace Lodge in Murray for several years.

Mrs. Owen was born on April 10, 1922 to the late Basil Lee Hutchens and Anie Jewel (Rayburn) Hutchens. Mrs. Owen before retiring worked at the Garment Factory in Murray. She was a member of The First Baptist Church and the Ester Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Owen was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Owen; one brother James Wesley Hutchens; and two sisters, Annie Fay Etheridge and husband Orville, and Ola Mae Redding; one brother-in-law, James "Jim" Neale; two nephews, Terry and Melvin Etheridge; and one great niece, Mary Ann Bray Fischer.

She is survived by one sister, Patsy Neale of Murray; one brother-in-law, Bill Redding of Waverly, Kansas; three nieces, Linda Hall of Murray, Sheila Wolak and husband Dave of Belleville, Michigan and Joyce Redding of Topeka, Kansas; nephews, Bobby Etheridge and wife Mimi of Almo, Larry Bowerman, Kenneth Hutchens and wife Sue all of Belleville, Michigan, Michael Hutchens and wife Georgette of Canton, Michigan, Tracey Hutchens and wife Diane of Saline, Michigan, Wesley Shane Hutchens and wife Alisa of Central City, Dale Redding, Dave Redding and wife Debbie all of Waverly, Kansas, Joe Redding and wife Andrea of Platte City, Missouri and Christopher Neale of Murray; also surviving are several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Boyd Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
