Mr. Lowell Kenneth Tucker, Jr., age 79, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away, Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Mercy Health in Paducah, Kentucky.
Mr. Tucker was born on March 18, 1945, to the late Berlynn Northington Tucker and Lowell K. Tucker at Riverside Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. He grew up in Paducah and graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School in 1963 and graduated from University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 1968. After graduating he worked in South Williamson County for two years for Appalachian Regional Hospitals. He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart Judy Hannon in 1967 at Fountain Avenue Methodist Church in Paducah. They moved to Murray in 1971 where their son Kevin was born. He worked at Begley Drugs, Revco, Reliable and Rite Aid and CVS before retiring in 2012.
He was a Kentucky Colonel, Volunteer pharmacist for Angels Clinic in Murray, and a volunteer in the Murray Baseball Association. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Murray. He was also an avid fan of the University of Kentucky Athletics, never missing a football or basketball game, where you could usually find him attired in UK apparel. He was also a member of the Phi Delta Chi Fraternity.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Judy Hannon Tucker.
Besides his son, Kevin Tucker of Paducah, Kentucky he leaves behind two grandsons, Owen and Hudson Tucker of Paducah, Kentucky and their mother, Erin Tucker of Paducah, Kentucky; brother-in-law Carl Hannon and wife Linda, of Kevil, Kentucky; sister-in-law Jennifer Gay and husband Gary, of Paducah, Kentucky; five nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews; cousin, Norm Tucker of Palm Springs, California; also, special friends, Donna Keller, Bobby and Liz Bazzell.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Paducah, Kentucky. Rev. Jim Stahler will officiate, and burial will follow. No public visitation will be held. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
