Lucille Outland

Mrs. Lucille Outland Outland, age 97, of Niota Tennessee formerly of Murray Kentucky, died Monday, February 07, 2011 in the Life Care of Athens Nursing Home.
She was born in Stewart Co., Tn., then married Herman Franklin Outland in 1934. They Lived in Murray, Ky. Until 1940 when they moved to Memphis, Tn. Lucille was a homemaker taking care of the couple’s two daughters Sara and Ruth, until 1951. She then went to work for Goldsmith’s Department Store in Memphis and worked until 1976. For many of those years she was a buyer of shoes for Goldsmith’s. In 1977 she and her husband Herman moved to Concord, Tn. And in 1978 to McMinn Co., Tn. She resided in McMinn Co. for the last 32 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Athens, Tn.
Her husband Herman Outland, parents Wavel and Lola Outland her brother J.B. Outland and Flnoy Outland and sisters Mittie Jane Outland, Evelyn Outland and Murrell Thornton and son in law Ray McKnight preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Sara McKnight, and Ruth McKnight (Ken) both of Niota, Tn., three sisters, Oneida Kaufman of Memphis,Tn., Geneva Justice (Leander) of Memphis, Tn., Sue Epps (Clifford) 0f Walls, Ms. five grandchildren, Sarita Daniels (Tony) of Flowery Branch, Ga., Anita Carr (Mike) of Columbia, Sc. Lisa Edmisten (Allen) of Clinton, SC., Kevin McKnight (Suzette) of Niota, Tn., Laveta Hall (Todd) of Niota, Tn., thirteen great grandchildren, Lindy Rakestraw (Kevin), Stacy Jordan (Jeff), Eric Carr (Graham), Kristen Stamey (Josh), Hunter Edmisten (Elizabeth), Jeremy Daniels (Catherine), Jacob Edmisten (Kelsey), Nathan McKnight, Carissa Edmisten, Ethan Hall, Aubrey Hall, Noble Edmisten, and McKenzie Edmisten. Seven great- great grandchildren, Haille Jordan, Anna Jordan, David Jordan, Aaron Jordan, Remington Lee Holcomb, Kiernan Stamey, and Caden Elijah McKnight. Also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, with Ken McKnight officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery.
