Margaret Nell Boyd

Mrs. Margaret Nell Boyd, 93, of Murray, Kentucky died Friday, December 27, 2013 at Hickory Woods Retirement Center in Murray.
Mrs. Boyd was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on December 25, 1920 to the late Tollie Cole and Carrie (Jetton) Cole. Mrs. Boyd was a lifetime member of North Pleasant Grove Church as well as the oldest member. She taught Sunday School in her younger years and was the president and secretary of the CPW women's group for the church until her death. Mrs. Boyd was the piano player for the church up to just a few months before her death. Before retiring Mrs. Boyd worked at the Murray Calloway County Hospital in the Central Supply Department from 1970 - 1982. After her retirement she volunteered for the hospital at the information desk for 30 years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo L. Boyd; one son, Ronnie L. Boyd; an infant grandchild, Emily Boyd; and a nephew, Terry Cole.
Mrs. Boyd is survived by one daughter, Julia Cain and husband Larry of Murray; one son, Gerrald Boyd and wife Shirley of Murray; one half-sister, Anita Manning of Paducah, Kentucky; one brother, Gene Cole and wife Ellen of Great Falls, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Brad Cain and wife Camme, Scott Cain and wife Wendy, Russ Boyd and wife Shannon, Michael Boyd and wife Jennifer, Stacy Bell and husband Jeremy, Heather Boyd and Chelsea Boyd; eleven great grandchildren, Alexis Cain, Landon Cain , Arin Boyd, Emily Ann Boyd, Ethan Cain, Aubrey Cain, Isaac Boyd, Lucas Boyd, Mary-Peyton Bell, Jackson Bell and Alex Boyd; daughter in law, Donna Boyd of Murray; and niece Debbie Cole of Ashville, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Cain and Rev. Charles Westfall officiating. Burial will follow in the North Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – until funeral hour (1:00p.m.) on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the funeral home.
