Mrs. Margaret Camp age 73, of Murray, Kentucky, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
Mrs. Camp was born in Calloway County Kentucky on July 18, 1940 to the late Joseph Coy Thornton and Murrell (Outland) Thornton. Mrs. Camp retired with Sav-Rite in Murray as the assistant manager and was the gift and jewelry buyer. Mrs. Camp was a member of the New Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Camp was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Thornton; and two brothers in laws, Charles Lamb and Dan Wall.
Mrs. Camp is survived by her husband Jerry Max Camp of Murray, to whom she married on September 27, 1958 in Lynn Grove, Kentucky; daughter, Angela McClure and husband Tony of Murray; three sisters, JoAnn Owen and husband Freddie of Nesbit, Mississippi, Sonoma Lamb of Murray and Judy Wall of Murray; one brother, Ronnie Thornton and wife Ann of Mayfield, Kentucky; sister in law, Patricia Thornton of Walls, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Michelle Potter and husband Michael of New Concord, Kentucky and Mitchell McClure and wife Leanna of Murray; two great grandchildren, Whitney Potter and Kaitlyn Potter both of New Concord, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Sammy Cunningham and Bro. Jack Henshaw officiating. Music provided by Tony McClure and Michelle Potter. Entombment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the funeral home.
